ABERDEEN — Other than the rape case reported separately, there were very few cases reported to the Aberdeen police last week.

A black handbag containing a cellphone, bank cards and ID book was taken from outside a house in Ziervogel Street on Saturday. The owner left the handbag on top of the outside wall whilst she went to activate the house alarm.

Anyone who finds either bank cards or an ID book is asked to contact the investigating officer, Cst Jack, on 049 846 0544.

A house in Rabie Street was broken into, also on Saturday.

The owner left for work, but was later called by her brother, who had arrived at the house to find two windows standing wide open. It appears that only meat was taken, from the freezer, to the value of approximately R800.

The small bathroom window had apparently been left slightly open, ad it is thought that either a child or small adult entered through this window.

On Monday, two cases of reckless and negligent driving was opened after two taxis sideswiped each other on the R61 Beaufort West road, just after 22:00.

The Toyota Quantum, from Fish Hoek, was travelling towards Aberdeen, and hit an Iveco travelling in the opposite direction, travelling to Cape Town from the former Transkei. Both vehicles were damaged, and were full of passengers, but fortunately no injuries were reported.
