GRAAFF-REINET — U­ni­on P­re­pa­ra­to­ry School wel­co­med three new fa­ces to their staff at the be­gin­ning of the school y­e­ar. Ro­byn Bel­lin­gan is the school’s new te­a­cher’s ai­de for Gra­de 1. She is al­so an as­sis­tant ma­tron at Max Kroon Hou­se af­ter school. S­hel­lyn But­ter­worth is back at U­ni­on af­ter pur­suing ot­her en­de­a­vours for a w­hi­le. Mar­chant van Rooy­en is the new Gra­de 4 te­a­cher. He is pre­vi­ous­ly from Gill Col­le­ge. GRAAFF-REINET — A Graaff-reinet fa­mi­ly is ce­le­bra­ting four ge­ne­ra­ti­ons that ha­ve at­ten­ded the sa­me school.

Se­ven-y­e­ar-old Jor­dan Ma­ritz, the el­dest son of Me­gan (née Sul­li­van) and John Ma­ritz, at­ten­ded his first day at U­ni­on P­re­pa­ra­to­ry School on Wed­nes­day, Ja­nu­a­ry 17. Jor­dan is the fourth ge­ne­ra­ti­on from the Sul­li­van fa­mi­ly to ha­ve at­ten­ded U­ni­on P­rep.

Jor­dan is al­so the se­cond Ma­ritz at­ten­ding U­ni­on - af­ter his grand­mot­her Jackie Ma­ritz Nor­ton who al­so star­ted her school­ing as a Gra­de 1 pu­pil at U­ni­on P­rep. Jor­dan with his mom, Me­gan (née Sul­li­van) Ma­ritz.
