New staff members welcomed Family celebrates 4th generation attending Union
GRAAFF-REINET — Union Preparatory School welcomed three new faces to their staff at the beginning of the school year. Robyn Bellingan is the school’s new teacher’s aide for Grade 1. She is also an assistant matron at Max Kroon House after school. Shellyn Butterworth is back at Union after pursuing other endeavours for a while. Marchant van Rooyen is the new Grade 4 teacher. He is previously from Gill College. GRAAFF-REINET — A Graaff-reinet family is celebrating four generations that have attended the same school.
Seven-year-old Jordan Maritz, the eldest son of Megan (née Sullivan) and John Maritz, attended his first day at Union Preparatory School on Wednesday, January 17. Jordan is the fourth generation from the Sullivan family to have attended Union Prep.
Jordan is also the second Maritz attending Union - after his grandmother Jackie Maritz Norton who also started her schooling as a Grade 1 pupil at Union Prep. Jordan with his mom, Megan (née Sullivan) Maritz.
