GRAAFF-REINET — Cases of arson and attempted murder have been opened after an attack on a house in Blossom Street, Kroonvale, last Friday.

The owner of the house, station commander of Graaff-reinet Provincial Traffic Department Lunga Xasholo, was not at home at the time, but two male relatives, in their twenties, were in the house.

A woman and two men arrived at the house in the early afternoon and threw stones at the windows to break the glass.

They then poured petrol in through the broken windows, and set it alight.

Of the two men in the house, a 25-year-old man was slightly injured and treated at Midland Hospital, and the other was unharmed.

A woman was arrested on the same day in connection with the case.

She appeared in court on Monday and was remanded in custody for legal aid.

Police are confident that the arrest of the other two suspects is imminent.
