-

GRAAFF-REINET — The quaint town of Graaff-reinet will be one of the stops in a whirlwind tour of The Snow Goose, the classic story by Paul Gallico, adapted for the stage by the award-winning Contagious Theatre company. The Snow Goose will be staged at the John Rupert Theatre in Parsonage Street on Wednesday, February 21. The Snow Goose is a timeless classic based on the Paul Gallico short story. A chance encounter between a recluse and a young girl blossoms as they nurse an injured wild goose back to health in marshes of Essex in the 1930’s. Their idyllic world is turned upside down as the chaos of war intrudes. With the use of masks, ingenious staging and the performance skills of Taryn Bennett and James Cairns, Jenine Collocott has created a theatre gem that has enthralled audiences all over the country. The doors to the theatre open at 19:00 with the play starting at 19:30. Tickets, at R100 each, are available from the Graaff-reinet Tourism Office.
