SAPS fun run for everyone

-

ABERDEEN — A fun run/ walk is being organised in Aberdeen later this month by Cst Alicia Africa, Community Police Official, on behalf of Aberdeen SAPS.

The event will take place on Saturday, 27 October, and will be over a distance of 7km. Participants will be taken to the starting point, on the Klipplaat road, and will finish at the stop sign opposite the police station in town.

The cost to enter is only R15, and all funds raised will be used to buy sanitary towels for school girls, who often have to miss school due to lack of funds to buy these essentials.

Every participant will receive a medal, sponsored by the Department of Safety and Liaison, and there will also be some great prizes.

The race starts at 09:00, but those taking part are asked to report to the police station at 08:00 in order to be transported to the start in time.

Entries can be made with Cst Africa at the police station, or by contacting her on 073 276 2122. The closing date for entries is Wednesday, 24 October, and Cst Africa stressed that no late entries will be accepted.

Station Commander Captain Qashani has already entered and challenges all local runners and walkers to join him to support this worthwhile cause.
