Tyremart opens in Graaff-reinet

-

Campbell Scott, who moved to Graaffreinet in 2007, has been serving the greater Graaff-reinet farming community with his TLB machine hire business since arriving and values how the locals do business with integrity, trust and genuinely friendly service being key points to succeed. Arriving with one old TLB, he built up his business over the years to eight machines but recently decided to sell a few due to drought and more farmers buying their own machinery. As a result, Campbell saw the need to diversify, but to still continue with his TLB hire business with his highly experienced and renowned good operators. Having a mechanical background having qualified as a diesel mechanic at Olifantsfontein, anything automotive and mechanical is in his blood. With years of experience, having a Field Service Mobile Workshop in Natal servicing the sugar cane and vegetable farmers' tractors, vehicles and equipment for 13 years before relocating to Graaff-reinet to take a break from mechanics. In the last few years, Campbell felt there was a need to start a first-class tyre outlet for the deserving community of Graaff-reinet.

The tyre business dawns

The launch of Tyremart in South Africa almost six years ago has proven to be great news for motorists across the country who have seen this relative newcomer in the tyre and parts fitment sector open no fewer than 80 stores nationwide and gain wide popularity due to its extended choice of leading tyre brands. The newest store in Graaff-reinet is sure to add traction to its rapid expansion, with its promise to take care of motorists' automotive needs with quality products and services. "We are excited to bring Tyremart to Graaff-reinet and our staff is eager to introduce motorists to the brand and our hassle-free service. For consumers who are not yet familiar with the Tyremart brand, the most important aspect of who we are and what we do is that we offer tyres, wheels, alignments batteries, brakes, shocks, towbars, CV joints and more," says Campbell. "Our prices are extremely competitive and we pride ourselves on delivering better than average service, with a courtesy vehicle available if necessary. We are also registered and ready to assist the following Fleets: Absa, Avis, Bidvest, First Auto and Standard Bank." With the launch of Tyremart in Graaff-reinet locals now have the advantage of being able to shop comparatively under one roof, across a much wider range of brands and be empowered to make smarter buying decisions by being able to compare and choose the right product for their particular needs, at the right price. Directors, Campbell and his brother Bruce Scott, a practicing attorney in Pietermaritzburg, felt there was only one man who could steer this ship. With his "tyre reputation" as well as his knowledge and experience of more than 10 years in the industry as well as service experience gained while working as workshop manager at Drostdy Toyota, there could not be a better candidate than Jason Jacobs to manage the business. "We are extremely proud to have him on board and have great plans for both Jason and the business," said Campbell. Following Tyremart's advertisement in July, Jason recruited only the best fitters Graaffreinet had to offer who all have years of experience and knowledge as well as their alignment technician, Wernich Stander, who has more than 12 years experience coming from Port Elizabeth, where he often did up to 35 wheel alignments a day. Wernich is highly experienced in replacing shocks, brakes, CV joints, steering racks, tow bars and a whole lot more. Also on board are Willy and Judy Jacobs, renowned old Graaffreinetters. Judy will head up the admin department while Willy will be involved with sales while looking after the stock side of things. According to Campbell, Tyremart will not be having any opening or random specials as, "Tyremart's prices will always be competitive while offering customers our best deals available at any given time". Campbell feels that the community deserves the service and competitive pricing offered by neighbouring cities. "Just because we live in a Karoo town, it should not give us a 'B' grade ticket to price and service." Graaff-reinet Tyremart trades Monday to Friday from 07:30 to 17:00 and Saturdays from 08:00 till 12:00. Tyremart will also be offering a 24-hour after hours service.
