Dads and kids camp out
As the sun went down on Thursday evening, 1 November, the fires went up on the Puggy Munnik Field behind Union Preparatory School in Graaff-reinet.
Eager Preppies showed their skills in pitching tents, building fires, braaiing meat and marshmallows and learning the old tradition of making ‘stokbrood’.
Mothers were visibly absent, giving fathers the opportunity to bond and care for their offspring alone.
There was a happy hum at the campsite against the beautiful backdrop of the Valley of Desolation.
After an early rise and a quick coffee and rusk, the kids were all back at school, having once again made beautiful memories.
