’Tis the season for Xmas fairs

-

Next weekend will see the annual Christmas Fair at St James’ Anglican Church in Somerset Street, and organisers Felicity Minnaar and Evette Holmes are thrilled with the number of new stalls that will be augmenting the old favourites this year.

New additions will include New Horizons, candles, wooden products, pomegranate body products, Woepsie Wapsie bread sticks, Zejakula Women’s Co-op, and assorted handmade Christmas gifts. Various charities will be represented, including the Graaff-reinet Cancer Association, Boundless (formerly known as the ACVV Protective Workplace), Profit for Purpose, Christelike Maatskaplike Raad, Camdeboo Hospice, the VLV and the SPCA.

The setting, in the lush gardens of the church and rectory, adds a special touch to what is always a very popular event on the Graaff-reinet calendar. There will no doubt be a wonderful selection of delicacies to choose from to tickle the taste buds and a variety of wonderful mostly hand-made items for special Christmas gifts.

There are 44 stalls this year, so there will definitely be something for everyone! The gates open at 09:00, so come early to avoid the rush - and the heat!
