Hard working Voetjies clocks 500 000 km

-

Capt Johan du Plessis of the SAPS'S Local Criminal Record Centre (LCRC) in Graaffreinet says that their bakkie, that recently hit half a million kilometres, is still working as hard as ever.

The Toyota Hilux 2.0. nicknamed Voetjies, was purchased by the LCRC in 2004 for R86 000 and clocked the 500 000km mark last week.

I recognition of this excellent mileage, Voetjies was honoured with a 'Long Distance Prestige Award' certificate by Drostdy Toyota on Monday morning, 12 November.

According to Capt du Plessis, to date, the vehicle has needed very little repairs, has required minimal expenditure to keep it roadworthy and is still performing well.
