Competitio­n keenly contested

The Better-ball competitio­n on Saturday, 10 November, at the Graaff-reinet Golf Club was keenly contested with high scores being achieved.

Jacques Wagener and Vlam Pretorius led the field with 45 points followed by Hadley Fourie and Chris Koeberg with 44 points on a count-out to Noel Taylor-freeme and Roelof Liebenberg as well as to Johnny and Johndre Ludick.

Henry Galloway and Charl du Plessis came in fifth place.

This competitio­n was sponsored by the Graaff-reinet Golf Club with the support of Pick n Pay.

•The Wednesday IPS competitio­n played on 7 November and sponsored by Gold Rush was won by André Olivier on 39 points with Vlam Pretorius on 37 points in second place and Dave Luscombe with 35 points in the third position.

In the Friday Sundowner played on 9 November, Jaco Venter beat Dave Luscombe in a count-out, both on 18 points. JL du Plessis was third with 17 points.

This Saturday, 17 November, the club will play host to the eagerly awaited Graaffrein­et Cricket Club Golf Day.

Golfers are also asked to please diarise, Saturday, 24 November on which the Konica Minolta Golf Day will be contested. Konica Minolta is the oldest sponsor of the golf club and this year’s IPS competitio­n will be extra special.
