Arthur and Lorraine take Masters’ titles
This past weekend, 10 and 11 November, twenty bowlers, (12 men and eight ladies) were invited to take part in the 2018 Midlands Masters Singles competition on the greens of the Somerset East Bowling Club.
In the words of one of Deon Deetlefs, a marker of some of the games, "many of the contests could have gone either way and each player deserved to be there".
The Men's final was between Graaff-reinet bowlers Niel Colyn and Arthur Langley, with Langley winning the Master's title by the narrowest of margins 21 - 20.
The Ladies' final saw Lorraine van der Berg, from Middelburg come out on top against Charlene Colyn from Graaff-reinet by 21 shots to 5.
