Ju­ni­or chess play­ers to batt­le it out at SA Ju­ni­or Chess C­ham­pi­ons­hips

Fi­ve brig­ht minds of U­ni­on High S­chool in Graaff-rei­net will be re­pre­sen­ting the Chris Ha­ni Dis­trict at the 2018 South A­fri­can Ju­ni­or Chess C­ham­pi­ons­hips (SAJCC).

The Sout­hern A­fri­can Ju­ni­or Chess C­ham­pi­ons­hips, the lar­ge­st ju­ni­or spor­ting e­vent of any spor­ting co­de in South A­fri­ca, will be held in Jo­han­nes­burg at the Bi­rchwood Con­fe­ren­ce Cen­t­re from 15 to 20 De­cem­ber.

The e­vent will in­vol­ve mo­re than 2 300 par­ti­ci­pants, be­t­ween the a­ges of six and 19 y­e­ars, from a­cross South A­fri­ca.

The fi­ve U­ni­o­ni­tes who will be par­ti­ci­pa­ting in this e­pic batt­le to out­smart e­ach ot­her for the tit­le of na­ti­o­nal cham­pi­on, in t­heir re­specti­ve age group, is Li­a­no Nai­doo (U.18A), Ha­run Wa­jid (U.18A), Ja­mes Ro­se-in­nes (U.18A), Tra­cy Pe­titt (U.16A) and A­mahle Fin­ca (U.16A).

Fi­ve U­ni­on chess play­ers are he­a­ding to the Sout­hern A­fri­can Ju­ni­or Chess C­ham­pi­ons­hips (SAJCC).
