ABERDEEN CRIME NEWS IN SHORT

-

The robbery took place on 14 December at midnight, on the corner of Bacon Street and Carnation Street in Lotusville.

The complainant was on his way home, and while he was talking to an acquaintance, four men approached them. One of the men is known to the complainant. Without any cause or reason, the known suspect hit the complainant over the head with an unknown object. One of the other suspects grabbed the complainant and threw him to the ground.

The suspects took two boxes of wine the complainant had with him, as well as R200 from his pocket, and ran away. The case is still under investigation, and no arrests have yet been made.

A flat-screen television was stolen from a house in Stockenstroom Street between 08:00 on 14 December and 10:00 the next day. The complainant, who is looking after the house for the owner, found that the back door had been forced open, and the television, worth R3 500, was missing.

There are no known suspects at this stage.

The second residential burglary took place in Lotusville, between 22:00 on 15 December and 01:45 the next morning. When the complainant returned home in the early hours of the morning, he found the front door had been forced open and his music system, amplifier, meat, and cash, all to the value of R3 935, were missing from his home.

Five arrests were made in Aberdeen in the last week: one each for contravention of protection order, assault GBH, assault common, theft, and possession of suspected stolen goods.

Eleven people were also held in the cells for a brief period for being drunk and disorderly.
