EMC: a college that serves

-

Eastcape Midlands TVET College (EMC) continues to play a meaningful role in skills development in the lives of its students. EMC serves a highly industrialised urban area, that include part of the Nelson Mandela Metropole, Grahamstown and GraaffReinet.

The college has eight campuses around the Eastern Cape, with the ninth under construction in Graaff-Reinet. Programmes include National Certificate Vocational and Report 191 programmes. These offerings cut across the fields of Engineering, Business, Art and Social Sciences.

The college is proud of its responsiveness to the needs of the industry and has entrenched itself as the fastest growing college in the learnership field in the Eastern Cape.

This has been made possible through its School of Occupational Training, which provides full accredited courses that suit both company and individual requirements.

EMC is also the only TVET College in the country to produce two electrical apprentices, who passed the External

Integrated Summative Assessment for the Qualification: Dual System Pilot Project.

Our college has remained consistent in achieving its vision of creating lifelong learning opportunities for its students and communities.

The college was recently ranked as one of the country’s three best performing TVET Colleges in the National Certificate Vocational programme.

EMC has also developed international relations with China, Germany and France. A group of EMC students recently left for a 12-month exchange programme in China. The college also welcomed back students from France.

These partnerships provide international academic exposure to our students and lecturers.

EMC’s head office is on the corner of Cuyler and Durban streets in Uitenhage. College head office/ Uitenhage Campuses:
