Men sentenced to 15 years for housebreaking
Two Graaff-Reinet men have been sentenced to 15 years imprisonment, following a housebreaking in Kroonvale on 18 May 2019.
According to Capt Bradley Rawlinson, spokesperson of the Graaff-Reinet SAPS, Grant Mabee (20) and Ricardo Jaftha (30) were convicted in the Graaff-Reinet Regional Court on 7 September.
They were also declared unfit to possess firearms.
According to police records, the two men broke into the Kroonvale home, stabbed a 64-year-old victim in his upper left arm, and stole a television and other electronic items.
A case of housebreaking with the intent to rob and robbery was opened at Graaff
Reinet SAPS the next day.
After a thorough investigation, the accused were arrested on 7 October 2019 and the stolen property was recovered.

A 64-year-old victim was stabbed by the robbers.
