Mountain Drive needs attention

-

With parkrun cancelled, many GraaffReinet residents have taken to jogging or walking their dogs along the Mountain Drive route, which falls under Camdeboo National Park. However, parts of this route have become inaccessible for cars, due to potholes and damage to the dirt roads.

“You cannot drive there without a bakkie,” said resident Eira Maasdorp about the state of Mountain Drive. She’s worried that it’ll have a negative effect on the image of the town when tourists drive along the route. Recent, much-welcomed, rain has caused further damage to the roads.

“They need to urgently do something,” Maasdorp added.

Acting Municipal Spokesperson, Edwardine Abder, said she will forward the enquiry to the relevant department.
