That is one huge pothole

Struggling to drive across town this morning on what are laughingly called Grahamstown’s ‘roads’, I couldn't help thinking how these monstrosities typify Makana Municipality itself.

Both the roads and the municipality are one huge pothole, entirely beyond repair. There is no longer any point in patching them up with rusty buckets of loose gravel and waiting for the next shower to make them even worse.

Both need to be dug up, thrown away and completely replaced with something (or someone) that is able to do the proper job.

But will this happen? I’m not holding my breath.
