Sportspeople 2015

Cody van Wyk and Natalie Ross were named Sportsman and Sportswomen of the Year respectively, at the Rhodes University Sports Awards ceremony at the Monument on Friday. Van Wyk, a member of the hockey club, represented the Eastern Province U21 hockey side. From there he was selected as part of the South African U21 team.

Ross, a member of the ath- letics club, won silver in her age group in the South African Triathlon Championships. She was also awarded an elite duathlon racing licence and finished second in the elite race at the African Cup Duathlon Championships. She was selected for both the South African Triathlon and Duathlon teams to take part in the world championship events, although she did not take part in either.
