Officers seize cocaine worth R7 500 in Tantyi

On Wednesday, members of the Joza crime prevention team responded to information about drugs and a stolen laptop at a spaza shop in “O” Street at Tantyi location.

On reaching the address they searched the premises and an occupant and found rock cocaine and powdered cocaine worth about R7 500 wrapped in plastic A black Acer laptop valued at R6 000 was also seized.

The suspect, a 36-year-old Nigerian national was arrested and faces charges of possession of cocaine/ rocks and possession of suspected stolen property.

He will appear in the Grahamstown Magistrates court soon.
