Sport versus crime
A Sports Against Crime netball and soccer tournament took place at Ntsika High School on Youth Day. The event was organised by the South African Police Service, Joza station in partnership with Joza Liqour Traders’ Association. The event hosted children under 14. Grahamstown police spokesperson Captain Mali Govender said: “This event was aimed at celebrating the June 16 Youth Day as well as getting the youth off the street to take part in Sport Against Crime”. Teams from the Joza and Grahamstown Policing areas took part. Govender thanked all who supported and helped organise the event. Golden Eagles were the overall netball winners, while the soccer final is still to be played. Stephen Penney took these pictures.
