DELVILLE WOOD COMMEMORATION SERVICE When Where What
17 July at 9am Waainek Cemetery As this year marks the Centenary of The Battle of Delville Wood, where are a significant number of South African soldiers engaged the enemy in WW1, the Makanaskop Shellhole will be holding a special wreath laying ceremony to mark the occasion and to remember those who gave their lives. Members of the ex-Servicemen and women's organisations as well as representatives of the Makana Municipality, the Defence and Police Forces as well as local schools are invited to participate in this event. Representatives who intend participating are requested to be at Waainek Cemetery no later than 8.40am.
