The EP Coastal side will be taking part in the Cricket South Africa National U17 Rural Week in White River (Nelspruit, Mpumalanga) from 9 to 14 December.

In their warm-up fixture, EP Midlands won the toss and elected to bat. A lacklustre display by EP Midlands’ top order meant they were restricted to a modest 113 all out. Zander Lombard (PJ Olivier) took three wickets for 15 runs and was well supported by Romario Fritz (Graeme College) who took 3- 22. Chris Gleaves (Graeme) got the Rural team off to a flyer with an aggressive 33 runs and captain, Luyanda Lwalweni (Tiger Titans), intelligently worked the ball into gaps as well.

Four Grahamstown players are part of the U17 side, Chris Gleaves and Romario Fritz (Graeme College) and Cameron Vlotman and Zander Lombaard (PJ Olivier High School). The EP U13 Bs representatives’ batting response was too good for the Albany side. Dylan Marx (St Andrews Prep) scored 71 runs from 46 balls and Ethan Richardson (Graeme) scored 33 runs from 24 balls as EP enjoyed a 7 wicket win.
