Rotary adventures into science
The Rotary Clubs annually sponsors Grade 11 students from the Eastern Cape to attend SciFest Africa in Grahamstown.
It's an opportunity for many students who would otherwise be unable to share this exciting experience. The clubs provide for the children's accommodation, show tickets, meals and pocket money. In addition to the Scifest programme, the students started the weekend with a sponsored Dr Steff hypnosis show and ended with famous Friesland milkshakes.
The Rotary Adventure into Science project hopes to instil a dream and a vision for potential leaders in science.
On behalf of our President Geoff Antrobus we wish to thank the following for the kind support: VG Hostel (Lois Marechal), Scifest Office (Navadia May), Pick n Pay (Jon Campbell), Legends Cash and Carry (Ian Doyle), Friesland Milk Bar (Samir Cassiram), Videotronic (Glenn and Tracey Arthur), Simone Haywood and Alan Reynolds.
