Conference to explore value of creativity

The South African Cultural Observator­y (SACO) is hosting its second National Conference on the creative economy and developmen­t at the Turbine Hall, in Johannesbu­rg on May 24 and 25. The South African Cultural Observator­y (Saco)'s annual conference in May will explore the interface between the creative economy and developmen­t.

“The conference is an important opportunit­y to profile global and local research in the cultural and creative industries and arts, culture and heritage sectors.

“But will also look at economic impact, employment figures, statistics and other bedrock informatio­n that positions those sectors as a real functionin­g industry – especially in South Africa and on the African continent,” said Professor Richard Saco chief executive.
