Karen Porter and Patty Zipp

-

Wallace Pharmacy has been in business since 1932, in recent years in the very busy Pepper Grove Mall.

It is owned by six partners. Two of the partners are pharmacists you see every day at Wallace's, Patty Zipp and Karen Porter. Patty and Karen are mothers who not only give their time to their homes, but also run successful businesses. Hard-working and ambitious, they have families of their own but spend many hours keeping Wallace's Pharmacy up and running, so that their staff and customers are kept happy and healthy.

Wallace's Pharmacy caters for everyone from the tiny baby coming to the clinic for its first weigh-in, to the school children who are in boarding and away from home and need tolietries and medication delivered to them. Wallace's Pharmacy caters for our students who need advice on vitamins to keep them focused during lectures and exams. It caters for the elderly who need their monthly medication and the occasional chat to fill their day - not forgetting our customers who need a card or gift in a hurry.

Although the dispensary is where Patty and Karen spend most of their day, there are many other areas that they need to oversee such as staff, making sure that stock is ordered and the shelves are organised. When it is their duty weekends they are called out at all hours to help their customers, and to provide medication to the sick.

They are always ready to give advice and share their knowledge on which vitamins and medication are both cost effective and of a high standard.

We salute Patty and Karen for being the women they are.
