Scholarships to Hangzhou Normal University in the City of Hangzhou, in the Zhejiang Province, China open to qualifying post-matriculants from the Sarah Baartman District

In partnership with Yuhang district and Zhejiang Province, Sarah Baartman District Municipality is seeking eligible candidates from Sarah Baartman District Municipality and all 7 Local Municipalities: Kou-Kamma, Dr Beyers Naude, Kouga, Blue Crane Route, Sundays River Valley, Ndlambe and Makana to apply for five (5) full scholarships to study at Hangzhou Normal University.
A local multi-stakeholder panel will select eligible candidates to be put forward to Hangzhou Normal University, who will have the final say in who is selected.
The 5 successful candidates are expected to complete their bachelor’s degree programme in four (4) years, starting from September 2024. The medium of instruction will be English.
The scholarships will cover first year tuition fees, accommodation, medical insurance, meals, travel and visa costs; continued support in subsequent years depends on performance. The scholarships are on offer for following specific programmes:
1. Economics (International Digital Trade); 2. Computer Science and Technology; 3. International Business (Cross-border eCommerce).
Eligibility
Interested applicants, between 18 and 25 years old, are required to have completed and passed their National Senior Certificate (Matric) exams with the following results:
English: At least 60%
Mathematics (pure): At least 60%
Physics OR Business Studies OR Accounting OR Life Science: At least 60%.
Required Documents
1. A completed application form for admission to one of the three programmes at the Hangzhou Normal University, as
mentioned above;
2. A certified copy of your South African Identity Document;
3. A certified copy of your National Senior Certificate (Matric) and the Results Transcripts.

You may consider your application as unsuccessful if you do not receive any correspondence from us by 30 May 2024. The Sarah Baartman District Municipality reserves the right not to select any candidate or, according to the academic achievements, consider your application for your second or third choice as per your application form.
