ON THE JOB...

Karin was able to re-use the frameless shower doors she had in the old bathroom. To modernise the look, she removed the plinth – the shower floor is now level with the rest of the bathroom. The glass door was covered with vinyl that resembles sandblasting to offer privacy. The thorn tree design was inspired by

Karin and Philip’s love of bush safaris.

I’m so happy with the result – I definitely think my late husband Philip would approve! – Karin

Karin never liked the old-fashioned look of these two small windows next to each other, so she had the one in the shower bricked up and the other one made bigger, replacing the old steel frames with aluminium ones and adding clear bars for a more modern look. The new toilet and shower are in the same space.

Karin removed the old wall tiles in the bathroom, which were three-quarters of the way up from the floor.

She also had double doors installed at the entrance to the en suite to create a greater sense of space.
