We Create National Quilt Festival 3–8 July: Collegiate Girls High School, Port Elizabeth

Attention all quilt-lovers! Sign up for a variety of quilt- and textile-related workshops, including one by two of the Tentmakers of Cairo – a first for South Africa! The exhibition of hand- and machine-made competitio­n quilts, from traditiona­l to art quilts created by top quilters and textile artists in SA, is not to be missed. 29 June – 8 July: Visit the AVA Gallery in Cape Town for an exhibition of 55 regional finalists in the PPC Imaginariu­m Awards. Emerging artists and designers have created works using Portland-based cement as the primary medium. Entry is free; call 021 685 0169.
