Paint that plastic!

-

Marietjie Schoeman of Westonaria writes I have white plastic patio chairs that I want to spruce up with paint. How do I go about it? Home contributor Shelly Bergh replies You can revitalise your plastic chairs with spray paint from Rust-Oleum. First, clean the plastic with thinners to get rid of any dirt or oily residue and then sand the chairs with fine-grit sandpaper until you achieve a dull finish. Now dust the chairs with a dry brush and wipe them down with a wet rag; let them dry completely. Apply a thin even layer of Rust-Oleum Painter’s Touch 2X Ultra Cover in the colour of your choice, shaking the can as you go. Let the first coat dry completely. Spray the furniture with two to three more thin even coats letting the paint dry between coats, until the furniture has a solid even colour. >>
