From drab to fab

I love dabbling in furniture makeovers. If a lick of paint can enhance its beauty, then why not?

I found two tables on a local buy-and-sell Facebook page and immediately saw their potential. My family weren’t convinced and couldn’t see past their drab, aged varnish and old-fashioned design; “hideous and ugly” were the words used, if I recall.

I used chalk paint (it’s so easy) to transform them into these vintage, shabby chic, incredibly elegant beauties! It took the whole weekend but I loved every minute of the transformation.

I also bought some decorative resin embellishments to apply to my bookshelf and TV stand, and gave them a chalk paint makeover to blend in with the beautiful new additions.

I love Home – it inspires me to do improvements and I get so many ideas for my ever-changing home. Thanks for a fantastic magazine; I keep every copy and have a huge collection that I refer back to often.
