I want to bring some greenery into my bedroom but I’m unsure which plants will work. Please help!

JJ van Rensburg of Garden World in Johannesburg replies The following plants are suitable for a bedroom: • The silver vase bromeliad (Aechmea fasciata) acts as an air filter for people who suffer from asthma or bronchitis and can last up to 10 years in the same pot. • Ficus benjamina, a small bushy tree, is just right if you want to create a tropical atmosphere in a large bedroom. • Delicious monster (Monstera deliciosa) will thrive in a dark bedroom and the big, green leaves will add a welcoming and dramatic look. • Aglaonema ‘Silver Queen’ is just the ticket if you regularly use aircon in your bedroom. While very few plants are able to withstand it, Aglaonema can handle most conditions. • Streptocarpus, an indigenous gem, is one of the few plants that will give you an abundance of flowers throughout the year and doesn’t need a lot of attention. >>
