What were some of the challenges you

faced during the renovation? We renovated the entire house and decided to stay put instead of moving out. This meant we had to move into different rooms all the time; we kind of camped in our own home! At first, it was a lot of fun and even romantic at times but the renovations took a year and a half (the kitchen took six weeks) and by the time our house was finished, we had to start rebuilding our marriage!

Any cost-cutting tips? We re-used as many old building materials as we could. It’s also fun to find something in a scrapyard and reimagine or repurpose it. You end up with really quirky details in your home. >>
