Waterwise plant of the month
Weeping anthericum
Popular with garden landscapers, hardy and low-maintenance weeping anthericum (Chlorophytum saundersiae) is a useful groundcover in sun or semi-shade, for verges and bee gardens, and it’s effective alongside ponds. It is clump-forming with light green, strap-like leaves and small, white, star-shaped flowers with prominent yellow anthers on thin arching stems. The blooms appear from October to March. Chlorophytum ‘Starlight’ has variegated leaves.
