What are edamame beans?

These are young, green soya beans. We found frozen ones at Woolworths but you can also look at Asian markets. Blanch the frozen pods and shell the beans. Alternatively, substitute the edamame beans with bean sprouts or chopped peanuts – they’ll provide just as much crunch!
