Find your niche
The alcove above the loo in Maryke and Clifford Roberts’s en-suite bathroom in their home in Strand was originally intended for storing toilet rolls, but it soon became a display area. “I’ve had the decorative wrought-iron shelf bracket for 20 years; it finally came in handy!” says Maryke.
She chose the plant pot to complement the Asian figurine to its right. “The figurine, carved from soft stone, belonged to my mom; she passed away eight years ago, so it has sentimental value for me.”
The paint was mixed from various green sample pots.
“I’m slowly but surely turning our bathroom into a green oasis!” Maryke explains.
