A hard-working kitchen in a relaxed country style
The industrial-yet-homely feel of the kitchen is in stark contrast to the Asian elements in the other living areas.
Liam explains: “I have always been a traditionalist when it comes to kitchens, so I knew I wanted a relaxed, timeless country style, but with a nod to modernity. It seemed natural to marry the black elements that are seen throughout the interior with industrial elements such as the black metal island, tap and sink.”
Humbly describing himself as “a prolific home cook who craves home cooking far from home”, Liam presents live cooking demonstrations for MOMC, so his kitchen had to be much more than just a pretty space.
“Ample pantry storage has always been important to me, especially now that I have to buy my Asian ingredients in bulk. A decent-sized island was paramount to accommodate my collection of cookbooks (not to mention my five woks) and it’s also great for filming. The open shelves give me easy and immediate access to everything I need when cooking and doing live demos.”
