[ A BIRD-FRIENDLY PARADISE]

-

Along with two birdbaths that work with electric pumps to add the soothing sound of water to the garden, there are also several other drinking spots for feathered visitors, including a pond next to the house.

Plants such as Cape honeysuckle (Tecomaria capensis), arum lily (Zantedeschia aethiopica), various spurflower varieties, blue sage (Salvia africana), wild garlic (Tulbaghia

violacea) and Pelargoniums were specifically chosen to attract birds. These plants bear blooms in various sizes and colours, have foliage in different shapes and some even have wonderful fragrance.

To keep costs down, many existing plants from elsewhere in the garden were replanted to add to the final overall picture. These include bush lily, hibiscus in various shades, a delicious monster (Monstera deliciosa), Inca lily (Alstroemeria), crane flower (Strelitzia reginae) and Agaphanthus praecox .>>
