Renovation Don’t move, improve!

An adventurous couple ‘opened up’ and updated an old home that now showcases treasures from their travels and fabulous second-hand finds to best effect.

-

here are exactly eight words that Philippa Dresner really, really dislikes, especially when used consecutively:

“How are you going to get that home?”

The moment you start talking décor details in the contemporary interior of the Rosebank home she shares with her partner Chris Murphy, no further explanation is needed.

“It’s a challenge I have yet to lose,” Philippa says matter-of-factly. Photos from their travels tell a story of a globe-trotting couple with a sense of adventure; at home, lucky second-hand finds like Parker Knoll chairs are sitting pretty with treasures and thrift store buys from all over the world.

Their stylish space has become a sanctuary. Since they both work as film location scouts, Philippa and Chris spend a lot of time on the road. Philippa spends several months of the year in Cannes, France where she works as an events coordinator during the film and advertising festival, and then the pair travels together afterwards. >>
