AN ECOFRIENDLY SPOT FOR RETIREMENT

-

The salon was cleverly designed so that one day it can serve as the Lemmers’ retirement home. “The location is perfect. This patch of land was already somewhat open, but you still have to look carefully to see our house from here,” says Wehrner. “It faces true north and isn’t too close or too far from our house, which we will rent out later.”

In fact, it’s exactly 70m away because that’s the length of the electric cable

Wehrner had to buy. “When you walk through the pristine forest, all you can hear is the birds and it feels as if you’re in another world. This glorious space is where we plan to live one day.”

The salon will soon be independent of municipal services and is already mostly using rainwater stored in JoJo tanks.

“We’re still saving up for a solar-powered set-up,” says Annette. “But we have a lovely open piece of land nearby that is ideal for installing solar panels in the future.”
