Classic Custard French Toast Waffle Sandwiches

Serves 4 • Baking time: 20 minutes

• 2 eggs

• 10ml Classic Custard

• 250ml Clover Fresh Milk

• 5ml vanilla

• 2.5ml orange zest

• pinch of salt

• 4 thick slices of bread

TO SERVE

• 250ml cream cheese mixed with chopped berries

• icing sugar

• 200ml Classic Custard

Preheat a waffle iron and spray with cooking spray. Whisk the eggs, Classic Custard, milk, vanilla essence, orange zest and salt in a bowl until mixed. Dip the bread slices in the egg mixture, one at a time, coating both sides completely. Lift the bread with a slotted spatula to allow excess to drain back into the bowl. Place the dipped bread in the preheated waffle iron; gently close the lid without forcing it down. Cook until golden-brown (about 3–5 minutes). Repeat with the remaining slices. Make sandwiches with the cream cheese and berry filling, a dusting of icing sugar and a dollop of Classic Custard. Enjoy!
