A well-utilised space

-

There are three elements I love about this design, says Jenny Collins of Red Cat Design. “Firstly, it thrills me that we were able to utilise an unused alleyway for the en suite. If space is limited, think out of the box – literally! Adding this extension was simple but it did need council approval and consent from the neighbours due to its position close to the erf’s boundary. It also needed approval from Heritage Western Cape as the house is older than 60 years.

“Secondly, for such a compact space, it was great that we were still able to fit in a loo, two basins and a shower.

“My favourite element is the private courtyard. Not only has it given the entire space a different dimension, but showering with the doors open and having plants so close by is wonderful.” >>
