Lara’s tips on green

-

• Think carefully about which shade of green will work for you; for example, sage greens are calm and classic, while emerald is very bold.

• An accent wall in green is an inexpensive way to make a big impact.

• Foliage of any kind is surprisingly practical and inexpensive. Personally, I love delicious monster or penny gum leaves in simple and stylish vessels.

• Use greenery among your objects on open shelves; cascading plants work especially well. Nowadays, artificial plants look great and are a suitable alternative to the real deal, especially in holiday homes.

• I love using interesting geometric vessels for greenery. Retailers such as Woolworths, H&M and others all have interesting and well-priced pieces.

• I lived in Singapore, The Garden City, for many years and I absolutely love bringing the outdoors in and vice versa.

Green symbolises life and growth, so you can’t go wrong with lots of greenery. Create a jungle and get painting – there is the perfect shade of green for every home!
