14 For the black crosses and lines Draw your design on the tiles with a pencil – this is to mark which white tiles will be removed and replaced with black tiles; use a flat screwdriver to remove the tiles. Use a craft knife to cut the netting and remove it. Clean out the dry tile adhesive.

15

15 For the house number Measure and mark the position of each element. Count the tiles on the design and on the floor to ensure you have everything in the correct position as planned. Once you’re happy with the position, you can mark and remove the relevant tiles.

16

16 Apply tile adhesive in the spaces you’ve created. Cut the black mosaics in the correct sizes and insert them in the spaces. Use the float trowel and rubber mallet to secure them in place and wipe away extra adhesive with a clean wet sponge.

17

17 When installing mosaics, the tile adhesive is also used as grout, so now you can apply it over the entire floor with a squeegee and clean thoroughly with a sponge and clean water as you go.
