• Blue felicia (Felicia amelloides) will reward you with pretty blue flowers contrasted by a bright yellow centre. This fast-growing shrublet likes full sun in beds or pots. • Cape honeysuckl­e (Tecomaria capensis) has tubular red, deep orange, salmon or yellow flowers that will lure nectar-feeding birds to your garden.

• Cape plumbago (Plumbago auriculata) is a fast-growing shrub that bears lots of blue flowers in summer. It provides the perfect habitat for shy birds such as robins who enjoy its dense growth habit.
