GLAMPING AT AFRICAMPS

GLAMPING HAS BECOME A BUZZ WORD THESE DAYS. BUT WHAT IS IT AND HOW DO YOU DO IT?

-

AfriCamps offers visitors the beauty of experiencing the outdoors without having to compromise on comfort. Coowners, Manou Bleumink and Jeroen van Rootselaar, believe that the best travel experiences are often those where you’ve managed to get up close and personal with the landscape, the people, and the food of the places you have visited. That is why they have set up their boutique camps on a carefully selected group of authentic working farms and estates.“Guests learn to appreciate farm life again, where play is unrestricted and kids can become little explorers,” Bleumink says.

AfriCamps provides attractive accommodation to those who like the freedom of the great outdoors but do not necessarily want to rough it. Each tent has a full kitchen, sitting area, dining table, bathroom, and two bedrooms – sleeping five people in total. Each tent even has aircon for the hot months and a fireplace and electric blankets to get cosy during the chillier months.

But where the magic really happens is out on the deck. The generous-sized decks are equipped with comfortable wooden loungers from which you can marvel at your surroundings with friends and family, and wonder why you have not done this before.

The next AfriCamps experience, opening in July 2018, is their first camp beyond the Cape and is magnificently set on the banks of the Sabie River in Hazyview. The 10 luxury glamping tents all face the river. It is the perfect place to relax and explore from when looking to spend some time in the Mpumalanga bush. Bookings are open and can be made on their website at www.africamps.com.
