CEO LETTER - Elmar Conradie

-

I’m extremely proud to announce that FlySafair has been ranked number one in the Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice awards as the Best Airline in Africa and the Indian Ocean, especially as this award is a reflection of what our passengers feel about us.

When we first launched in 2014, we set ourselves the task of championing air access for all South Africans by providing an affordable and reliable service. To have travellers acknowledge FlySafair for these exact traits, gives us confidence that we are on the right track.

Vincent van Gogh said that “Great things are done by a series of small things brought together,” and this is, for us at least, the secret to our success thus far. We’ve made a lot of small changes that can make a very big difference to the travel experiences of our customers.

On our aircraft we’ve introduced spacious slimline seating with ergonomic tray-tables that give you more room, and we’ve installed high-quality rubber flooring that is easier to clean and more hygienic. Recently we also started rolling out LED ambient lighting in the cabin that can be adjusted for different times of the day.

We’ve also made credit card facilities available on board – the first low-cost airline in South Africa to do this – which means you don’t have to worry about carrying cash with you on board when you want to order refreshments.

We’ve made lots of little improvements over the years and are always looking into new ways we can improve our service to help make your flying experience with us more comfortable and hassle free.

The credit goes to our brilliant teams for always coming forward with new ideas and finding ways to make them happen. I want to give a big thank you to our cockpit and cabin crew, ticket sales, call centre and airport staff and also the technicians who so carefully look after our customers and their needs. I firmly believe we have one of the best teams in the world. Our record of what we have achieved in the short time that we have been flying is evidence of this.

I hope that as you travel with us today, you feel the love from our teams. As ever, if you have any comments or suggestions, we’d love to hear them, so please pop an email to feedback@flysafair.co.za.

Kind regards, and happy travels Elmar Conradie
