Welcome on board this FlySafair flight, and thank you for choosing us for your journey today!

We have a spring in our step at FlySafair, as, after months of the leisure industry suffering under the lockdown restrictions imposed on them, leisure travel has reopened – and just in time for spring.

For us it means returning to all our routes, releasing an adjusted schedule for the December and January summer holiday season, and for the latest addition to our fleet to finally get the chance to take to the skies.

This aircraft, ZS-FGC, a Boeing 737-800 with split scimitar winglets – is the first of its kind in our fleet, and was painted with a special livery to celebrate the Aviation Company of the Year Award we won at the Civil Aviation Industry Awards at the end of 2019.

After months of seeing her waiting on the tarmac, it is with immense pride and pleasure that we were able to see her take off for her first flight at the end of August.

With the skies having opened up domestically, we will see more people taking to the skies for a much deserved getaway, or to visit loved ones they were unable to see due to the restrictions. As such, it is now, more than ever, important for us, and for you, to adhere to the safety precautions set out by our government.

As such, we continue to pledge to keep our passengers and staff safe on board our flights. Minister of Transpor t, Fikile Mbalula, gave us his thumbs-up when we showed him the policies and safety measures we put in place before our operations restarted in June.

These measures include thoroughly deep cleaning our aircraft each evening with top of the range disinfectant solutions that are confirmed to be effective in combatting the Covid-19 virus. We use electrostatic spraying devices that deliver charged particles that stay active on surfaces and effective against the virus long after application. We are also taking extra time between flights to disinfect commonly used areas, such as the armrests, seat belts, and overhead bin handles, and we treat the cabin with sanitising aerosol foggers.

During this time we ask you to please also remember to always listen to the cabin crew, and adhere to their requests, as they are there to look after your safety.

If you have any feedback about your experience with us today, please send it to feedback@flysafair.co.za.

Safe travels Elmar
