FREE WINTER SCHOOL WORKSHOP
LEARNERS are faced with the challenge of unemployment immediately after completing grade 12.
There are many factors that contribute to unemployment, some of which are not in our control. However, we are not entirely powerless either.
While many of the popular industries have saturated, there are emerging opportunities in select sectors due to advancements in technology, digital migration and globalisation. One such sector is the creative, media and broadcasting sector which has taken centre stage.
The Sector of Education and Training Authority for Media and Communications has identified many fields within this sector as scarce and critical skills. Some of the emerging fields of study that learners must be made aware of include, app development, interactive media, digital marketing, animation, scriptwriting, film making, music production, broadcast engineering, fashion design, performing arts and many more.
Creative Arts College has arranged a free workshop for grade 11’s and 12’s to get an overview of this sector. Students will have the opportunity to learn and understand the workings and operations of these fields. They will apply themselves in practical scenarios and interact with actual industry players who will share first-hand experience. This is an invaluable opportunity that supports the learner in the big decision of an ideal career path.
The workshop is presented as a winter school, that runs over two days during the mid-term holidays. Date: 3 - 4 July 2018 Venue: Creative Arts College (Durban/Pietermaritzburg/ Richards Bay)
Time: 9am to 3pm
