Free agent Ashley Hartog has been sweating it out at the club after being released by Maritzburg United. Midfielder Bantu Mzwakali could leave at the end of the season for a Gauteng-based club.

The club appears likely to offload New Zealand forward Kris Bright at the end of the season, while Portuguese striker Joaquim Lupeta is also likely to be loaned out. Injury-prone forward Calvin Kadi will also be sacrificed. Despite recovering after his blackout during training in December, Burundian internatio­nal Papy Faty was given extended rest as a precaution­ary measure. The club has brought in Julius Likontsane – a highly-rated striker who was playing for First Division club Witbank Spurs. Nigerian defender James Okwousa looks set to move at the end of the season, with Orlando Pirates monitoring him. Xola Mlambo has been signed from Cape Town All Stars. Enterprisi­ng winger Philani Shange has started light training as he works his way towards recovery from a leg fracture. Dan Malesela is working at the club without a contract. Malesela joined last year, replacing Roger Sikhakhane. The Chilli Boys are yet to finalise his contract because they have outstandin­g issues with Sikhakhane, who has since taken the club to the labour court. The club has loaned out Thabo Moseki to First Division campaigner­s Royal Eagles, while bringing in Mothusi Gopane on loan from SuperSport United. Lifa Hlongwane, Thabo Modiba and Siphenathi Laqwela have all signed.

Reneilwe Letsholony­ane is still to renew his contract, which expires at the end of the season. Speculatio­n is already linking him elsewhere. Reyaad Pieterse remains calm about his contract renewal, with his current deal running out at the end of the season. Former player Abel Shongwe has joined Swazi side Malanti Chiefs as caretaker coach. Midfielder Siyabonga Nkosi has officially retired. Defender Levy Mokgothu and midfielder Ovidy Karuru are expected to leave in June. Mbabane Swallows CEO Sbusiso Manana has denied reports linking midfielder Felix Badenhorst to Chiefs. The club has released the leftback duo of Tumelo Letuka and Koloko Mothethi after they struggled to make an impact since arriving at the beginning of the season. Letuka has since joined Bloemfonte­in Celtic. New arrivals include Sizwe Dlamini, Vuluyeke Zuma and Giulio Giuricich. Former youth internatio­nal midfielder Jabulani Ncubeni has moved back to Thanda Royal Zulu six months after having moved in the opposite direction. The club has re-registered Siyabulela Shai following his premature return from his loan at Maritzburg United, while Motjeka Madisha has gone out on loan to Highlands Park. The club wanted to sign midfielder Thabo Mnyamane during the past transfer window, but the deal could not go through after a proposed move to AmaTuks for Lindokuhle Mbatha and Lebohang Mokoena did not materialis­e. The club has parted ways with head of scouting Jacob Sakala and former team manager Thethe Mogotsi – the latter already being replaced by Graham Oosthuis at the beginning of the season.

Veteran defender Siyabonga Sangweni and Mozambican forward Helder Pelembe – currently on loan at Celtic – will be out of contract at the end of the season. Club reject Bheki Nzunga has now joined FC Cape Town following months of being idle since the expiry of his contract in June last year. According to a source close to the club, Golden Arrows midfielder Matlatse Makudubela has signed a pre-contract with Pirates. Goalkeeper Felipe Ovono met with the club management recently to express his frustratio­ns over lack of game-time.

Polokwane City

The unwanted trio of Dino Visser, Baptiste Faye and Kgothatso Mashia remains stuck at the club as they have all failed to reach an agreement regarding the money they should be paid as settlement for the terminatio­n of their contracts.

SuperSport United

The club has moved Jino Moeketsi, initially at Vasco da Gama, out to FC Cape Town following discipline­related matters.

University of Pretoria

Former assistant coach Sly Mosala has joined Polokwane City as a scout while also doubling as an assistant coach to Julio Leal.
