Starting as underdogs, Pirates crush Bush Bucks of Durban 3-1 in the first leg of the JPS KO Final in Durban. Man of the Match is Basil Steenkamp for Bucs who scores two first-half goals after Mlungisi Ngubane gives Bush Bucks the lead.

AUG 7

Cosmos buy Pitso Mosimane from Sundowns – the fee Cosmos paid is not disclosed. In a dramatic turn Bush Bucks beat Pirates 2-0 in the second round of the JPS KO Final to level the aggregate score to 3-3, forcing a replay.

AUG 16

Three Pirates players escape unhurt when the car they are travelling in overturns near Mafikeng. Teboho Moloi, Ernest Makhanya and Isaac Mogagabe walk away without a scratch.
